Job Description:

Our client is urgently seeking a qualified NP or PA specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery to embark on a 14-week assignment with a potential extension. The appointed candidate will be primarily responsible for managing approximately 10 patients per day, performing ICU procedures such as tube and wire removals, but will not be tasked with ICU rounding. This role requires autonomous working in the OR and floor settings and proficiency with the EMR Cerner system.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide medical care to around 10 patients daily.

- Perform procedures in the ICU, including tube and wire removals.

- Work autonomously in both the OR and floor settings.

- Adhere to a schedule consisting of day shifts (4 10’s weekday 7-5), including night calls and every 3rd weekend call.

- Efficiently navigate and utilize the EMR: Cerner.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

- Proven experience (2+ years) as an NP or PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery.

- Demonstrated ability in treating adults.

- Strong background (2+ years) working in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Operating Rooms (OR).

- Proficiency (2+ years) with Cerner.

Required Licenses, Training, and Certifications:

- Active NP or PA New Jersey License

- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification.

- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support from the American Heart Association.

- Registered Nurse First Assistant Certification.

- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
