NURSE (MORRILTON INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL)
POSITION TITLE: Nurse (Morrilton Intermediate School)
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services and Respective Building Principal
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 190 Days (Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.)
SUMMARY:
The School Nurse, under the supervision of the Director of Student Services in conjunction with the Building Principal, is responsible for using his/her clinical knowledge and judgment to promote a public school health program to scholars and staff, perform health screenings, and serve as the liaison between school personnel, family, and healthcare providers to ensure a healthy school environment. The Nurse's primary responsibility is to promote and provide a safe public school health program for scholars.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELALTIONSHIPS:
The Nurse will be evaluated by the Director of Student Services in conjunction with the Building Principal, in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Demonstrates relentless commitment to safety, learning, and academic achievement of all scholars by actively participating in the Professional Learning Community Process and carrying out assigned responsibilities to contribute the mission of the South Conway County School District.
• Demonstrates effective customer service to all district patrons.
• The nurse shall promote a public school health program that is a cooperative project produced through the efforts of administrators, teachers, children, parents, custodian, and all persons concerned with the school.
• The nurse shall interpret the health program to teachers, parents, and children as required.
• The nurse shall serve as a liaison person between the physician, community health agencies, the home, child guidance centers, and the school.
• The nurse shall aid in protecting the health and welfare of the scholars and school personnel.
• The nurse shall cooperate with school personnel in attendance problems by determining the existence or extent of illness of children by home visits when appropriate and contact with physicians, hospitals, etc.
• The nurse shall assist in planning and carrying out other school programs that relate to the school health program.
• The nurse shall cooperate with all agencies and organizations interested in health programs concerning school children.
• The nurse shall direct the implementation of all state and federal guidelines regarding health requirements of school children, school employees, and school programs.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Valid Nursing License; Pass all appropriate background checks.
