Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
We are a 34 bed, Level 2 Family Birth Center located in Silverdale Washington. In the heart of our birth center is a 10 bed, Level 2 Special Care Nursery licensed to care for babies down to 32 weeks gestation. In addition to our approximate 2000 deliveries per year, we also see approximately 2500 outpatients through our Obstetrical Emergency Department. Other types of patients we care for are GYN surgical patients and pediatric readmissions up to 28 days of life. Our beautiful birthing suites offer comfortable accommodations for the patients and support person while still being able to provide care for medical emergencies should they occur. RN staffing ratios are: 1:2 in labor, 1:3 Antepartum, 1:4 couplets (8 patients) postpartum, 1:3 Special Care Nursery
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Conducts Maternal-Fetal Assessment.
- Provides nursing support to the laboring patients, utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management.
- Provides stabilization and transition of the normal newborn at delivery.
- Circulates and scrubs for Cesarean Sections.
- Cares for the post-surgical patient.
- Assists the anesthesiologist with insertion of an epidural and provides care to the patient with regional anesthesia.
- Provides care to the High-Risk maternity patient.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN degree is preferred.
- Minimum 6 months previous RN experience required.
- One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- Previous recent Labor and Delivery Experience is preferred, or One to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completion within 6 months of date of hire.
- National Certification Corporation (NCC) or American Nurses Credentialing Center certification preferred.
Pay Range
$37.37 - $60.79 /hour
