THIS IS A STANDARD REQ FOR THE NURSE EXTERN III POSITION FOR SUMMER 2024
Job Summary:
Assists in the delivery of nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Gains knowledge and skills related to the role of a professional nurse, while contributing to the patient care delivered on assigned unit. Administers medications with the Registered Nurse and assumes responsibility for increased patient assignment (volume and complexity) under the direction of an RN.
Education - Required:
- High School Diploma/GED and
- Completion of junior year of RN education program, or equivalent if enrolled in a diploma, ADN, or fast track program. Must present proof of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Experience - Required:
- Completion of junior year of RN education program or equivalent if enrolled in a diploma, ADN, or fast track program. Must present proof of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required:
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care.
- Successful completion of orientation.
- Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
- Basic computer skills.
Certifications - Required:
- BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
