Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee patients enrolled in Clinic programs
- Obtain, analyze, and report data for Clinic programs
- Draw blood, take vital signs, and execute other clinical work, including individualized patient education, as necessary
- Document and track medications
- Receive medication requests and notify patients of medication delivery
- Provide resources for patients, such as patient assistance program applications for medication, and discount coupons
- Schedule and perform follow-up services
- Ensure adequate coordination of care for clinic and telehealth patients
- Follow up with volunteer providers after appointments
- Supervise and evaluate student nurses
- Administer and track routine immunizations for patients
- Refer patients for follow-up
- Review laboratory results and follow up as required
- Organize and maintain medical supplies
- Process daily lab work and ensure correct billing to lab vendors
- Oversee filing and documentation of medication requests, including the use of pharmacy assistance programs
- Supervise volunteer nurses and coordinate their activities
- Oversee remote patient monitoring
- Instruct new volunteers/students in use of the Electronic Medical Record
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, RN license or Medical Assistant (MA) Certification or equivalent
- At least one year of clinical experience, preferably in an out-patient primary care clinical setting
- Experience working with an under-served population is desirable
- Skill in interpersonal relations
