Reagan Medical Center operates urgent care, primary care and outpatient imaging services across five locations throughout the Greater Gwinnett County region. Our Primary / Urgent Care Centers include in-office X-Ray at every location to ensure prompt and effective patient care. In order to deliver on our value proposition to improve access to care our Centers are open 7 days per week. The ACR accredited Imaging Center is located at our South Lawrenceville office, and a brand new imaging center that has just opened as part of an expansion at our Hamilton Mill Campus. OurImaging Center offers MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine at some of the most affordable prices in the Atlanta region.
JOB PURPOSE:
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and/or Nuclear Cardiology procedures according to all Protocols, Policies and Procedures and adhering to A.L.A.R.A. programs. Performs all quality control procedures in accordance with manufacturer, state and federal guidelines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program accredited by either the Joint Review Committee on Education Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Either CNMT or NMTCB registered.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS Certified. Possesses a thorough knowledge of radiation safety guidelines and radiopharmaceuticals as needed to perform and process Nuclear Medicine examinations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required Nuclear Medicine exams on patients of all age groups, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
2. Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
3. Determine the quality of radiopharmaceutical received from suppliers.
4. Explains test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures.
5. Protects self, patient and other personnel during all Nuclear Medicine exams.
6. Maintains all required records, reports, licenses and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of human physiology
2. Must be able to perform quality Nuclear Medicine examinations in accordance with all standards.
3. Must be able to provide other technologists instruction on the same equipment.
4. Must deliver SAFE care in accordance with the Alwaysafe program.
5. Must use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient with service recovery.
