POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a full range of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures to provide optimum information for the diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or equivalent AND Completion of an accredited course in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
2. Must hold applicable state medical imaging license based upon physical work location assignment.
3. Must be registered (or registry eligible) by the ARRT or NMTCB as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. If registry eligible, must pass boards within six months of hire; AND Must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist or Hold a certification administered by the NMTCB, ARRT, or pass the state administered CT Board.
4. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

1. Cooperates with others, shares ideas and contributes time to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
2. Attends and participates in departmental meetings and activities to support progress improvement and team building.
3. Participates in planning and implementing change, maintaining and improving high quality, cost effective department operations.
4. Performs a full range of Nuclear Medicine diagnostic imaging and/or treatment procedures to provide optimum information for the diagnosis and ultimate treatment of patients.
5. Plans and performs imaging procedures to produce medical images for the diagnosis or treatment of patients meeting the quality standards of the department as identified through professional literature and department protocol, policy and procedure.
6. Demonstrates appropriate level of knowledge and technical aspects of the position, maintaining professional and technical competencies as required by the organization, the accreditation and licensing bodies (where applicable).
7. Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff in accordance with Department policy, procedure and guidelines as well as State, Federal, The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory bodies.
8. Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification using identified communication mechanism to ensure the performance of radiology services.
9. Assesses patients' needs related to comfort, hygiene and range of motion and provides support accordingly.
10. Performs as a clinical and/or didactic instructor meeting the quality standards of the radiology education program(s) as identified through professional literature, department and radiology education program(s) protocol, policy and procedure.

11. Ability to interact positively with patients, families and members of the Health Care team.
12. Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations at any given time.
13. Knowledge of Radiology information systems.
