The Program Coordinator will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of faculty and students from a variety of units at the University of Maine. The Program Coordinator will work to inspire a culture of excellence by supporting a continual and consistent flow of communication among faculty, staff, students, and partners. The individual will champion a safe, vibrant, and inclusive program environment that actively promotes collaboration, engagement, knowledge exchange, financial responsibility, and learning. They will (1) build, sustain, and strengthen a network of students, faculty, and partners associated with the NRT; (2) actively contribute to NRT-related research and teaching activities; and (3) provide an essential backbone of administrative support. Required:
- Typically has the education associated with an MS in Natural Resources, Environmental, Health, Social Sciences, Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Environmental Communication, Native American Studies or other related field and 5 years of relevant professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to building partnerships.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to convene diverse groups in-person and via online platforms such as Zoom.
Preferred:
- PhD in Natural Resources, Environmental, Health, Social Sciences, Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Environmental Communication, Native American Studies or other related field.
- Experience in coordinating NSF grants, especially IGERT, REU or NRT grants.
- Experience with promotions, social media, and science communication campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Interest in and experience with teaching.
