Your work will contribute to the growth of our philanthropic partnerships and ensure healthy, livable communities for all generations.
Northwest Associate Director of Philanthropy (ADoP) - Key Benefits:

  • Make a direct impact on the annual operating and programmatic needs across Washington and Oregon.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple geographies, departments, and volunteers.
  • Opportunity to support the creation, protection, and enhancement of parks, trails, and public lands.
  • Full-time exempt position with a comprehensive benefits program.
  • Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Relationship Manager (60%): Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on donor identification, strategy development, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Conduct donor visits and close gifts, coordinating donor field trips, events, and recognition.
  • Management of Prospect Pipeline (15%): Collaborate with various teams to identify, qualify, and track new prospective donors, and advance connections with prospects.
  • Communications, Donor Relations, and Events (15%): Implement regular communications to donors, and lead strategy and execution of Northwest fundraising events.
  • *Next Generation Council Volunteer Management (5%)*: Act as the philanthropy lead for the Northwest Next Generation Council, a group of young leaders supporting Trust for Public Land's mission.
  • Other Duties (5%): Perform other tasks as assigned.

Expectations:
  • Manage a balanced portfolio of 80-100 prospects capable of making gifts between $10,000 and $100,000.
  • Make at least 100 visits (aspire to 120 visits) with donors and prospects annually.
  • Contribute to overall success by meeting or exceeding budget and goals.
  • Develop and implement annual and long-range work plans in coordination with the Northwest Director of Philanthropy.
  • Collaborate with program staff to cultivate relationships and develop philanthropic partnerships.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of fundraising experience with major gift solicitations ($10,000+).
  • Proficient in writing and editing persuasive materials.
  • Experience interacting with individual donors and fundraising volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of the Northwest's philanthropic community is preferred.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and Trust for Public Land's mission.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel within the Northwest.
  • Bachelor's degree and proficiency with databases or donor management software are preferred.
