Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Northeastern Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales efforts to distributors within the Northeast region of the United States, to reach sales and marketing goals. Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for completing forecasts, orders and setting model goals.
Regional Sales Manager position requires extensive travel within the region of responsibility, as well as occasional trade shows, customer events and corporate functions.
- Manage sales efforts with distributors to reach sales and revenue goals.
- Work with Distributors to set model-by-model sales goals.
- Complete forecasts and ordering process in conjunction with distributors and within the time frame established by management.
- Collect and forward competitive marketing information.
- Suggest product development and product line expansion ideas.
- Work with distributors in training their sales force through participation in product training meetings
- Conduct annual territory training meeting for distributor and dealer sales personnel.
- Maintain contact with key dealers primarily through fieldwork with distributor personnel, or direct contact as necessary.
- Participate, with distributors, in the planning and implementation of dealer meetings and open houses.
- Complete biannual analysis of territory and distribution. (Evaluation of distributor performance in key areas; evaluation of market position in the region).
- Complete other duties as occasionally assigned by management.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Outside sales experience in outdoor Power Equipment industry (minimum of 5-7 years)
- Enjoy travel up to 80%.
- Strong communication skills, oral and written.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
- Ability to handle objections, negotiate, and close sales.
- Ability to work independently, with proven initiative and self-direction.
- Must be detailed oriented.
