STEAMpark Corporate Accountant
Job Description
We are a non-profit organization looking for an exceptionally organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this part-time role, you will help our entire team more effectively manage our programs through accurate and timely maintenance of the company’s financial systems, reports, and data.
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in the non-profit accounting field (specifically using QuickBooks Non-Profit Software), significant computer experience with Google suite of products, payroll bookkeeping and tax reporting experience. Excellent communication skills a plus, particularly if the candidate has experience working with donors, sponsors, vendors and customers. Tax and Payroll Accounting experience is a plus. Must have the ability to devote 15 hours a week but can be on a flexible schedule.

Work Location: Remote
Pay: $30 per hour at an estimate of 15 hrs per week
Responsibilities include:
- Record transactions via bank feeds or manual entry
- Perform general ledger, bank account and credit card reconciliations
- Handle Accounts Receivable (A/R –from Individual Clients & Companies), invoice clients and collections
- Handle Accounts Payable (A/P – Vendors & Bills)
- Process employee reimbursements, receipts, and expense reports
- Assist with financial needs for Fundraising events
- Prepare weekly cash forecast
- Generate monthly financial reports
- Update donation information for Development staff/Executive Director
- Calculate pay and issue payments to employees - Contractor and W-2 payments
- Work with Gusto to prepare end of year W-2s and 1099s
- Maintain state corporate filings (Charity Registration, bi-annual Charities Gaming License, Annual Report)
- Coordinate communication/requests with Insurance Companies
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Budget
- Coordinate with auditors for annual audit and Federal and State tax filings
- Assist in preparation of financial reports for quarterly Board meetings
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5 years or more experience as a professional non-profit Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in an accounting field or related discipline required
- Strong writing skills- able to communicate effectively with all members of STEAMpark as needed via email.
- Able to translate complicated concepts into clear and compelling visual narratives (infographics, icons, charts, data visualization).
- Highly proficient in Quickbooks Online.
- Extremely organized, self-starter, able to work independently as a virtual employee.
- Ability to devote approximately 15 hours a week to this position
