Job Title: Corporate Account Manager: Meatpacking

Compensation: $80k-$140k

Description:

We are searching for a Corporate Account Manager with experience in the meatpacking industry to join our team. As a Corporate Account Manager, you will build relationships with existing large meatpacking customers and be a resource to them on projects that involve in-motion weighing and related automation. Meatpacking background strongly preferred.

The core job function is visiting customer plants and developing relationships while educating customers about Morrison products. During the first year, you will travel regularly with company leadership, engineers, and technicians to familiarize yourself with the equipment and be introduced to customers. Long-term, the key deliverable for the job is to grow revenue with major meatpacking customers where Morrison currently has a small footprint. Expect up to 50% of time spent traveling. All reasonable travel expenses including airfare, mileage, hotel, food per diem, etc. are fully compensated.

Morrison Weighing Systems is a conveyor scale engineering design and manufacturing firm, which has been expanding into other areas of automation. With 60 years in business, we find success as a small, efficient company with a broad reach. 9 of the 10 largest pork processing companies and all 4 of the "Big 4" beef processing companies use Morrison equipment. As a Corporate Account Manager, all travel is within the U.S. and Canada, with the majority being in the Midwest. Travel to the Alaskan Islands and other fishery locations is possible in the future, if desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Make regular courtesy call visits to customer meatpacking plants, to discuss their operations, check in on existing Morrison equipment, and keep up to date with upcoming projects. (Up to 50% travel)
  • Build and maintain good relationships with plant engineers and managers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Morrison equipment and how it can be used to improve meatpacking plant efficiency.
  • Gather detailed information on new opportunities and provide it to the design & estimating team.
  • Learn to discern between good project opportunities and those which should be passed on. Honestly communicate to customers the true capabilities and limitations of Morrison systems.
  • Work with the design & estimating team to generate quotes, then deliver them to the customer.
  • Follow through with projects, checking in with customers and the Morrison team along the way to help with communication and confirm that progress is on track.
  • Facilitate communication between customer plants and Morrison technicians leading up to new equipment installation. Be onsite on startup day for installations.
  • Use downtime in the office to prepare and improve sales and marketing materials.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience employed in a management or corporate position at a major meatpacking company or experience working in industrial food equipment sales.
  • Sales or relationship building experience.
  • Strong business acumen and analysis.
