Job Description: Night Auditor
Reports to: Front Desk Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to each guest.
- Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and check out guests at the end of their stay.
- Answer phones and field calls.
- Make reservations from the internet and by phone and keep records of assignments and other registration-related information on the computer using the property management system.
- Perform night audit as dictated by the property management system and accounting for property.

- When guests check out, prepare and explain the charges and process payments.
- Make reservations from the internet and by phone.
- Report problems with guest rooms and public facilities to members of housekeeping or maintenance staff.
- Answer questions about services, checkout times, the local community, or other matters of public interest.
- Deliver items to guests’ rooms.
- Input data into the hotel’s property management system.
- Provide luggage service when needed.
- Additional duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Performing a perimeter check of the premises
- Securing entrances and exits
- Walking each guest floor during the night shift
- Escorting anyone that is not a hotel guest off the premises.
- Judge different situations as to their severity and call the authorities when needed.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work at night: Shift runs from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. or 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Able to work by oneself with little or no supervision.
- Computer skills- Property management systems, Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Prior night audit/front desk experience
- Stressful situations are common. An ability to handle oneself under pressure is needed.
- Must be able to work nights and weekend since shifts vary depending upon occupancy and time of year.
- A professional appearance and good personal hygiene must be always maintained.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time.
