Description:
The Technical Writer will play a crucial role in the LMS rollout project at a university, focusing on creating, updating, and refining documentation to support the new system. This role involves understanding LMS functionalities, planning and writing clear instructional materials tailored for different user groups (students, faculty, administrators), and collaborating closely with the project team. Additionally, the Technical Writer will incorporate user feedback, ensuring documentation stays current with any LMS updates or changes. The role may also involve crafting nontechnical communications for the project team.
Mandatory Qualification:
- Technical Writer
- Translates technical information into clear, readable documents for technical and non-technical personnel. Develops and/or maintains system documentation, user manuals, installation guides, and computer operations and program maintenance manuals.
- Position Skill Level: Junior (12 - 36 months of experience)
Requested Qualifications:
- 24 months of experience in higher education creating and maintaining detailed documentation on Learning Management Systems, covering features, updates, and integrations.
- 24 months of experience translating LMS functionalities and technical specifications into user-friendly language suitable for an academic audience.
- 24 months of experience developing and updating user manuals tailored to educators, administrators, and students, ensuring ease of use and understanding of the LMS.
- 24 months of experience producing step-by-step guides for configuring and managing the LMS.
- 24 months of experience maintaining a high standard of documentation quality.
- 24 months of experience copyediting for accuracy, relevance, and clarity, including proper use of the English language (e.g., correct spelling, grammar, punctuation).
- 24 months of experience gathering feedback from users to continuously refine and improve documentation.
