New Construction Closing Officer

Location: Middletown, RI or Tampa, FL

Department: Closing/Shipping/Funding

General Business Hours: M-F 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Shift: 8 hours, M-F.

Managed by (Title): Closing Manager

Compensation: $19.23 per hour - $21.63 per hour + incentives

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (eligible for approved overtime)

SUMMARY

Embrace Home Loans is seeking to hire Loan Closing Officers to join our Closing Team. The Closing Officer will coordinate, monitor, and facilitate loan closings alongside a team of assigned Loan Officers, Loan Processors, Title Agents and Underwriters in order to ensure that loans are finalized and approved by the closing date.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Technical Knowledge, Years of Related Experience, Skills, Licenses, and Systems Experience

  1. Education: High School Degree required
  2. Experience: Mortgage industry knowledge or experience in the banking industry required. Familiarity with compliance measures in the financial industry. Experience working with New Construction loans required.
  3. Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, eagerness to learn and excel working in a fast-paced team environment. Knowledge in lending and credit markets required. Document processing, Document review, Quality Assurance/Compliance processes, Lending regulatory compliance, working with a team
  4. Systems: ProficientMicrosoft Office Suite 365 (including Teams) experience required, experience with Empower (Loan Origination System) or similar Loan Origination System required.

TRAINING REQUIRED

Participate in additional training on sales, technology, products, procedures and pricing on an ongoing basis. Participate in sales leadership and FAQ calls. Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare a draft closing disclosure package and other necessary closing documents to ensure that final costs are set up and accurate for the borrower prior to closing.

• Communicate regularly with title companies to collaborate on a preliminary closing Disclosure, closing Instructions and a final closing package.

• Quality control review of executed legal documents to ensure validity and information accuracy.

• Manage your pipeline of assigned loans for closing and funding in a timely order.

• Complete loan closing checklists to ensure that information is correctly presented on the closing disclosure package and other related documents.

• Review and update data in the software platform “Empower”, to ensure accuracy of the loan closing package.

• Participate in pipeline calls with sales team and builder.

• Participate in trainings, meetings and events on relevant topics including but not limited to loan products, process improvement and diversity.

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES

Attend and participate in all Monthly Awards Ceremonies, Corporate Gatherings (including travelling to headquarters quarterly) , Sales Calls & Training Events. Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on corporate policies, procedures, and developments.

MEASUREMENTS OF SUCCESS

Problem Solving: Willingness to collaborate with internal and external team members, (LO, Processor, UW, Title Agent, Builder); Research and seek out data that may be difficult to access to ensure that the borrower’s finances and closing costs are correct.

Flexibility: openness to coaching and feedback to meet desired objectives.

Organizational Skills & Attention to Detail: Monitor various open files and individual correspondence to achieve timely closings.

Communication & Customer Service Skills: Knowledge or exposure to meeting quality standards for services in order to uphold the company’s exceptional customer service reputation.
