POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Neuroradiology Division, Radiology Department at the University of California, Davis is recruiting two full-time faculty members at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor or Clinical X series. Rank and series will be dependent on the qualifications of the selected candidates. The starting salary range for this position is $345,000-$420,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: the incumbent will be expected to engage in teaching, professional clinical services, scholarly activities, creative work, as well as university and public service.

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: the incumbent will be expected to engage in teaching, clinical care, research as well as university and public service.

Prospective candidates should have a MD or DO degree, be certified or eligible for board certification by the American Board of Radiology, have completed fellowship training in Neuroradiology in an ACGME accredited program or equivalent, and be certified or eligible for medical licensure in the State of California. It is required that candidates be certified or eligible for subspeciality certification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology or equivalent.

NEUORADIOLOGY DIVISION

The Neuroradiology Division provides the full range of expert imaging services for adult and pediatric patients, as well as a wide range of image-guided procedures in head and neck and spine indications. Advanced MRI-based neuro-imaging applications, i.e. fMRI, DTI, ASL, VWI (Vessel Wall Imaging) are available in support of specialized clinical services such as Neuro-oncology, Epilepsy, Neurology, Vascular neurosurgery, Neuro-ophthalmology, Complex spine, Hematology-oncology, Psychiatry. Clinical research is ongoing in various areas such as Pediatric Neurology, Cerebrovascular pathology, Neuro-inflammation, and Neurodegeneration.

The Neuroradiology Division is continuously expanding on both the clinical inpatient and outpatient sides and supports a busy ACGME accredited training program for residents and fellows. There are currently three approved one-year Neuroradiology fellowship positions, soon to be expanded. Also, Radiology residents rotate on the Neuroradiology Division throughout the whole academic year.

RESPONSIBILITES

The selected candidates will be expected to provide comprehensive neuroradiological clinical services and promote the values of service, compassion and collaboration within the Neuroradiology Division and the Radiology department, and with allied clinical departments including Neurology, Neurological Surgery, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, Oncology, and other departments.

Clinical assignments include participation in daily clinical activities of neuroimaging, including advanced imaging techniques and minor interventions, weekday, and weekend call coverage.

Participation in interdisciplinary conferences such as tumor board and subspeciality conferences (Pediatric Neurology/Neurosurgery, Epilepsy, Adult Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery) in relation to neuroimaging is expected.

Participation in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in the form of didactic lectures, case reviews and case presentations will be expected.

Participation in clinical and translational research within the Radiology department and with other departments will be encouraged and supported, especially for candidates who endeavor to develop a research portfolio.

The Neuroradiology Division and the Radiology department have a strong focus on work/life balance.
