Job Description
TechConnect is seeking a Network Security Engineer for an industry leading organization that is located in Tulsa, OK. We are looking for an individual that has a proven track record designing, implementing and managing security solutions to protect the network infrastructure for the organization. Ideally, they need an individual with a solid Network Security background, accompanied with a strong understanding of the latest and greatest security technologies and best practices.
As a Network Security Engineer you will be responsible for Network Security architecture, intrusion detection and prevention, vulnerability management, security incident response, firewall configuration and management, network monitoring and analysis, and evaluating/improving current security policies and procedures. You will design, implement and maintain Network Security architecture that aligns with company goals and industry best practices. You must be able to work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security into network design and implementation. You must be able to communicate Network Security related information effectively to technical and non-technical team members, management and Executives.
To be successful in this role you must have excellent oral and written communication skills accompanied with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. You need strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities. You must be able to proactively identity and mitigate potential threats for the company. You need to have a strong attention for detail with the ability to think outside of the box and provide guidance and training to network and IT teams regarding security best practices.
Responsibilities (continued)
- Develop, implement, and enforce Network Security policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend security solutions for routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices.
- Configure and maintain firewall policies to ensure the secure flow of network traffic.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on network infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage intrusion detection/prevention systems to detect and respond to malicious activities.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity.
- Conduct regular analysis of security logs and alerts to identify and mitigate security incidents.
- Analyze network traffic patterns to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment and resolution of security incidents.
- Implement and enforce access control policies for network devices.
- Collaborate with IT team members to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement incident response plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or other management.
Qualifications/Education/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business informatics, Computer Science or related field and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in Information Technology, OT and/or security infrastructure in a large enterprise and/or production focused environment.
- Security and/or Networking Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CISA, CCNA or willingness to get certified. Certifications are highly desired for this position.
- Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or a similar role with a deep knowledge of Network Security protocols, technologies, best practices, hands-on experience with firewall and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Work Location/Travel
- Tulsa, Oklahoma office.
- Must be willing and able to perform all job related travel normally associated with this position. Visit new sites as needed.
