Job Summary:
As a Network Engineer 2, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's network infrastructure. Working closely with other IT professionals, you will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our network systems. This role requires a deep understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, along with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and implement network infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Configure and deploy network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Optimize network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform proactive maintenance tasks.
- Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
- Conduct regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure system integrity and security.
- Diagnose and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex network problems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior Network Engineers and other IT staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and protocols.
- Prepare reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance metrics.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and recommend enhancements to improve network efficiency and security.
- Work closely with other IT teams, including system administrators, cybersecurity specialists, and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Several years of experience in Network Engineering or a related role.
