Job Summary
I am looking for a part time consulting Network Engineer that would be able to sustain a long-term consultant relationship. This could be a under contract or by general employment.
We are looking for an initial system analysis. This is a unique training system and will require some familiarization of the overall IT environments within the systems to be effective with providing solutions to issues.
Ideally the Engineer would later be available long term for occasional recovery problems and normal operational and maintenance requirements, STIGS and other upkeep items as required. I would like to have a short conversation with you to see if you might fit our requirements and might be interested in the tasking. This environment is a special purpose training tool operated by the Navy. It incorporates a number of different systems and security protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality end-user support, resolving technical issues, and providing technical assistance for all operating systems and applications
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft Windows server operating systems (2012R2+) and applications
- Perform and maintain system backups and restores using enterprise storage solutions.
- Understanding of Hybrid Azure AD, BitLocker, LAPS, Certificate Services, WSUS, and MDT
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects and administer Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Certificate Services, DNS, Group Policy, File/Print Services
- Basic understanding of PowerShell scripting and usage to deploy changes, configure servers and reporting
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and remediate security risks / gaps
- Recognize and troubleshoot problems with server hardware and applications software
- Produce, maintain, and updates technical documentation and procedures to increase productivity and drive user adoption
- Knowledge of deploying, installing, and managing SAN storage systems
- Manage VMware VDI environment, Maintain vCenter servers and ESXi 6.x hosts and clusters
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and networking hardware
- Knowledge and hands on experience implementing, administrating, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, controllers.
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
- Functional understanding of current network protocols and internet standards, including DNS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, VxLAN, and QoS
- Knowledge in VoIP processes\infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with software license agreements
- Escalates and coordinates issues with vendors when appropriate
- Other related duties as assigned
- After hours and weekend support work may be required from time to time
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field like Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 3 years relevant IT experience
- Strong Experience with AD (and Azure AD) and DHCP, DNS
- Experience with Dell and HP server hardware and underlying software.)
- Hands on experience working with Cisco equipment and CLI environment
- VMware vSphere and other server virtualization experience a plus
- Microsoft MCSE/MCITP, VMware VCP Certifications a plus
- IAT Level 3 certification required
- Certifications (A+, CCNA, MCTS, MSCA, etc.) a plus but not required

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
