Skiltrek is looking for a Network Administrator/Engineer to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This person will be the sole networking resource on this team and will report to the IT Director who was the previous Network Engineer and built the network out previously. The IT Director is still very hands-on when necessary but is looking for someone who can eventually take over the network so that he does not have to be involved on the technical side. The IT Director will lean on this person for recommendations, new ideas, technologies, implementations, etc.
This role will be on-site in Lafayette, LA.

Technical Environment: Juniper routers & switches, VeloCloud, palo alto firewalls, global connect for VPN, SD-WAN between various locations (have 80 sites on SD-WAN out of 100 sites). Mainly use BGP routing protocol and only real routing is MPLS between the two data centers.
Day to day: Responsible for making sure all network connections are up and running for every office. Analyzes and controls the technical architecture of local area networks and wide area networks connectivity and communications. Analyzes workload, including traffic and utilization trends. Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors for maximum guidance in determining the most appropriate type of hardware installation. Implementation/installation of new equipment as directed by the IT Director. Responsible for router/switch upgrades and making sure they are on a supported version of code (recently upgraded PanOS on all routers).

Cross platform network knowledge of Cisco & Juniper equipment. Strong documentation skills.
