SAIC has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator to join our RITS contract in support of the Network & Monitoring Services technology area in the USACE OCIO/G-6 environment, IAW DoD, Army, and USACE O-CIO G6 policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, a candidate will exercise good judgement, communications, and technical acumen while answering emergency calls in support of Senior Leaders, major incidents, and natural disasters. This role will be part of a network operations team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of an IT enterprise with a large user base by monitoring for and escalating critical issues. This role will act as the after-hours point of contact for all incidents listed above while responding in a quick and timely manner according to USACE priorities & procedures.
Job Duties:
• This is a night shift role supporting (10pm - 6am EST)
• Respond to and escalate emergent / critical incidents such as Senior Leader requirements, major incidents, and natural disasters during an overnight shift.
• Exercise good judgement to cross reference the emergent incident with approved event types and action applicable teams to quickly resolve issues & outages.
• Engage stakeholders from internal and external teams as required by USACE procedures to apply sound solutions, and verify the solution satisfies requirements.
• Interact with Senior Leaders and contract level leadership during incidents while demonstrating a calm demeanor and superior communications skills.
• Create, update, and maintain high priority support tickets by engaging stakeholders across multiple engineering disciplines to solution issues quickly.
• Daily use of monitoring & service delivery tools including but not limited to; SOI, DX/OI, SCOM, Spectrum, and ServiceNow.
• Monitor and engage critical alerts in accordance with documentation.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree
Required Certifications:
- Security+ (or other IATII equivalent IAW 8570/8140 requirements)
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have an active secret clearance
Required Skills:
- Experience monitoring networks and responding to major/critical enterprise, time-sensitive issues.
- Experience interacting with senior customers on outage bridges or other relevant live forums.
- Demonstrated understanding of network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP) and secuirty protocols (RDP, SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec)
- Demonstrated proficiency in network troubleshooting to define issues, respond to break/fix actions, and maintain/troubleshoot enterprise level issues.
- Experience with DoD network environments
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
