Network Administrator
Location: Hybrid, DMV area – Start of at 1 day a week but will progress to 2-3 days a week visit to GSA DC from Aug 1st.
Start Date: tentative 3/15/2024.
Contingency: Ability to obtain a public trust
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in a hybrid mode with a government customer and engineering team for Networked Systems Administration, Operations and Maintenance, and engineering support.
- Shall resolve moderately complex network problems.
- Shall establish and meet established work-product deliverable deadlines.
- Responds to Network support requests.
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Communicates effectively with teammates and customers of varying levels of technical expertise.
- Responds to all break/fix requests associated with network resources.
- Assists with configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure.
- Work with configuring and maintaining Cisco network hardware, including switches and firewalls.
- Support any CAT 5/6 and fiber cabling, as well as installing new network drops when needed.
- Maintains up-to-date project and architecture documentation.
- Maintains up-to-date inventory and maintenance records.
- Monitors network resources for faults and traffic anomalies.
- Resolves connection issues between users and resources.
- Maintains detailed change history of network changes.
- Supports ITS Field Maintenance with communications' implementation and troubleshooting.
- Supports team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses.
- Supports team efforts for threat hunting and mitigation.
- Manages time and resource constraints.
Required skills & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in Networked Systems Administration, Operations and Maintenance, and Engineering support.
- Certifications in COMPTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), etc.
- Configured and managed products from major networking equipment and firewall vendors
- Expertise in the maintenance of networking Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices and policies
- Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco network hardware, including switches and firewalls.
- Proficiency in running CAT 5/6 and fiber cabling, as well as installing new network drops when needed.
- Experience with Zscaler
- Understand core concepts of SASE, SSE, Zero-Trust, ICAM, PAM and other modernized security solutions.
- Use of automated methods to deploy and maintain switches and firewalls.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and support changes to network including cable infrastructure, network monitoring software, firmware, and hardware.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,400.00 - $149,200.00 per year
