IRISNDT is currently seeking NDT Assistant Technicians for full-time resident positions within a client site located in the Baytown, TX area. The NDT Assistant Technician will assist NDT Level II Technicians in performing Non-destructive Testing of materials while training to become a Certified Technician.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment under the supervision of the Certified Technician.
- Assist NDT Technicians in performing required inspection.
- Assist Radiographers in performing radiography of piping and equipment.
- Assist with proper documentation and reporting of inspection results.
- Become familiar with required codes and procedures to carry out testing.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
- Industrial Inspection and maintenance which includes work with ultrasonic and radiographic equipment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
- Pre-employment background checks will be required.
- NDT certifications are a must (RT, UTT, PT, and MT)
- 40hr Radiation Safety Training is required.
- Radiographer state card will be considered an asset.
- NDT training and experience will be considered an asset.
- Technical experience preferred.
- Valid TWIC Card required - Must know the PIN # to your TWIC Card.
- Current SPRAT Rope Access certification will be considered an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
