Position Description

Team Submarine's Submarine Program Offices are responsible for:
The acquisition of the OHIO Class replacement and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the COLUMBIA Class. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy's newest class of nuclear attack submarines. The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Additionally, successful improvement of the Class' capabilities is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The NAVSEA 05Z Directorate is responsible for the design and development of the COLUMBIA class Integrated Power System that provides power distribution and propulsion for the future ballistic missile submarine. They work with directly with the shipbuilder for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating all resources required for the design, construction, and Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the future submarine's power system. The future Ballistic Missile Submarine is the nation's top defense priority as the only survivable leg of the nuclear triad. The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.
This Navy Acquisition Analyst and Project Leader will be on a dynamic team providing high-level direct support to Team Submarine Program Offices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead projects identified by Navy leadership which promote improved acquisition processes, tracking, and management.
  • Draft and develop strategic messaging products to facilitate communications with internal Navy and external stakeholders.
  • Tracking action items of importance to Team Submarine Leadership and ensure they are complete on time and meets leadership expectation.
  • Develops and implements office and organizational administrative policies and procedures.
  • Maintain schedule of commitments and reminds senior leadership of obligations.
  • Safeguarding business sensitive information, tracking and delivering time constraint and recurrent tasks using highly sensitive records, information and data received on a constant basis.
  • Spearhead reviewing administrative and technical documentation for format, editorial, and subject-matter accuracy, and clarity.
  • Analyzing processes and workflow's, formulating process improvement recommendations, analyzing technical/programmatic information to ensure a smooth operation of the department, field location, or specific project.
  • Researches, assembles, and analyzes facts; and presents oral and written documents of compiled data for senior leadership use in responding to actions which require his/her personal attention.
  • Attend meetings and prepare notes and/or meeting minutes.
  • Capacity to learn and train employees on corporate business processes and workflow.
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment accepting emergent tasking with little to no supervision and/or direction.
  • Team-oriented individual with outstanding customer service experience.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A Secret clearance is required for consideration.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years related experience.
  • Individuals must possess strong analytical skills along with discretion in performing specified work requirements.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively, to build and sustain working relationships with a vast team of diverse professionals.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently and with sufficient knowledge, present projects to senior management.
  • The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Previous experience providing analytical support to senior/executive level managers is a plus.
  • Experience supporting a Navy acquisition program office is preferred.
  • Experience in the Navy as a Sailor is a plus!
