This position serves as the spokesperson for the Committee and a primary point of media contact.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain relationships with national reporters.
- Shape media coverage of Senate races, the DSCC and specific candidates.
- Place stories, work with reporters to develop overall media narratives, serve as an on-the-record spokesperson and help book surrogates and candidates.
- Write and edit communications materials.
- Work with the Deputy Director of Communications and other senior members of the communications team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
The ideal applicant will be comfortable working in a fast paced, campaign style environment, and has a solid, demonstrated background in the fundamentals of campaign communications.
This position is based in DC. This position is expected to work out of the DSCC office located on Capitol Hill.
