The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Director, Program Development, Public Health with our National Center.  This position can be home-based. The application portal will close Friday, December 22, 2023.

 

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant-funded opportunity, current funding is through 2024.

 

The National Lead Program Development is responsible for developing and leading the Community Health education and certification program. Responsible for building plans for product development, business modeling, and market introduction. Responsible for formulating ideas, conducting user and market research, creating business cases/models (including pricing, licensing, etc.), and developing program content and requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

  • Drive Community Health Education product development process for engagement of Community Based Organization and Community Health Worker education, certification, and assignment. Oversee strategic planning from program initiation through market launch.
  • Lead collaboration with Operations, Professional Education, Marketing and other functional teams to ensure successful product launch.
  • Collaborate with the assigned program team for feedback on product development and overall strategy.
  • Ensure team develops and manages product roadmaps that align with business strategy and market needs.
  • Engage with customers to gain firsthand insight on the programs and customer needs. Foster a shared understanding of Community Health Education products throughout the product development team and the broader organization.

Qualifications
  • Eight (8) years of experience in product or Program Development, product and market strategic planning, or product/program management
  • Five (5) years of experience in program management in Public Health, community health, social services or related area
  • Five (5) years of experience leading new product launch and sales planning
  • Basic knowledge of adult education or continuing education certification and programming
  • Proven ability to develop product and go-to-market strategies, including managing all aspects of a successful product through its lifecycle
  • Superior project management, time management and organizational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to ensure adequate resources are brought to bear to meet client needs from throughout the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in training
  • Two (2) years of experience driving health equity advancements
