National Account Manager, Home Depot

Develops, manages, and supports the sales activities for defined National Account customer(s). Proposes and executes strategies, products and programs and coordinates field operations for resets to achieve maximum sales volume and margin potential from account(s). Responsible for flooring tile sales of Marazzi, Daltile brands to Home Depot. Manages sales in excess of $50M.
Primary Objective:
  • Cultivates close working relationships with Home Depot key personnel at all levels.
  • Support and Collaborate with Dal-Tile Director of Sales (THD Account) on strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals; including sales, margins, and profits.
  • Primary Contact for HD Associate Merchant for Floor Tile @ The Home Depot
  • Directly manages the Daltile and Marazzi branded flooring Category within The Home Depot account, more than $50M. Works closely with Daltile HCS marketing, planning and operations to drive sales and execution.
  • Work with Product Marketing to create and execute a new Mosaic business growth strategy for the Home Depot.
  • Perform & Analyze external market analyses to determine customer needs, product pricing, and programs using competitive shops and POS data.
  • Analyzes sales statistics with Home Depot Strategic Marketing team to identify trends and opportunities to assist home center customer(s) in promoting sales.
  • Builds strong relationship with Home Depot RMM’s to drive sales through new opportunities and ensure bay and product execution in the field.
  • Review & Provide SKU level forecast for floor tile
  • Manage & Lead all NEW product launches as related to floor tile.
  • Review and Approve all Display/Bay Proof of Concepts for NEW Product Launches
  • Recommends product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from programs.
  • Creates and delivers sales presentations to communicate results and opportunities to drive sales and profitability.
  • Sets up new SKU’s in the Home Depot system as needed. Prepares periodic sales reports for senior leadership showing sales volume, potential sales, and possible areas of expansion.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field required, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years Home Center Sales. Working knowledge of Tile, Stone and related products, commercial sales & commercial contractor activities. Requires effective negotiating, strong communication and program management skills along with excellent product knowledge
  • Strong leadership, organizational and planning skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation, problem solving and the ability to multi-task. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software including proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and ability to learn internal logistics systems for Support Team oversight, as needed. Potential to develop strong management skills of sales staff and department.

Leadership, organizational and sales skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation, problem solving and the ability to multi-task. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Up to 50% travel required. Able to lift over 50 lbs and set plan-o-grams. Experience using small construction and tile setting tools with knowledge of tile installation.
