Job Purpose and Impact
Cargill's North American Engineering Discipline Center is a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that help drive standardization and value in Capital Execution across a multi-billion project portfolio. As the NA Mechanical Discipline Lead, you will help develop, maintain, improve, and benchmark Cargill's Regional Engineering Standards in collaboration with the Global Reliability Excellence and Engineering team.
This is a remote role based in North America with approximately 30% expected travel within North America.
Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance of mechanical and equipment engineering standards, policies, procedures and job aids with regulatory standards and alignment with Cargill's global and regional standards.
  • Establish accountability measures and reporting mechanisms to monitor the performance and corporate benchmark metrics and measurement to foster effective utilization and integrity of automated tools and systems.
  • Lead the tactical development and delivery oversight of vision, direction and strategy for mechanical and equipment engineering.
  • Collaborate, coordinate and promote mechanical and equipment engineering programs and policies regionally.
  • Consolidate overall analysis and proposing recommendations in areas of improvement and implement solutions to improve performance and identify acceptable risk tolerance.
  • Provide mechanical and equipment engineering support required for normal operations.
  • Oversee advanced support for mechanical and equipment engineering deliverables in capital projects.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Prior Work Experience with Petro/Chem Process or Power Generation Facilities
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Experience with Process Industry Practices (PIP)
  • Experience with ASME and API Codes
  • Experience with developing specifications, datasheets, and bid packages for equipment
  • Experience with rotating equipment under pressure
  • Experience with static and heat transfer equipment
  • Experience with Capital Project Execution from Front End Loading through Start-up and Commissioning
  • Frequent interaction with senior internal and external personnel often requiring coordination between departments
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with virtual teams
  • Technical gap assessment and solution identification
  • Ability to translate highly technical information across all levels of technical knowledge

Compensation Data
The expected salary for this position is $145K - $160K +, in the US. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
