POSITION PURPOSE:
The general purpose of the position is to provide data, office, and Spanish Language Support for the Multilingual Learners (ML) Department at Central Services.

Abilities
- Learn and use PowerSchool student information system
- Learn and use the Ellevation software as a third-party student information system for our ML student group across the school district.
- Carry out office clerical duties for ML Director to support ML Department
- Carry out Spanish Language Support as needed for phone calls and families visiting Central Services.
- Prioritize multiple tasks towards completion with minimal supervision
- Maintain confidentiality
- Increase efficiency with district-and school-based processes
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Advanced oral Bilingual language skills with intermediate or higher biliterate language skills in both English and Spanish.
- Minimum High school diploma or above educational level. Preferred (but not required) Associate's certificates and/or diploma or Bachelor's coursework/degree.
- Experience in a dynamic office team environment with collaboration and communication is preferred (but not required).
- Highly organized, strong time management skills, and with meticulous attention to detail.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing student records for 6000+ students (including 3000+ Current Multilingual Learners (MLs) and 500+ Monitored students) in Powerschool and Ellevation student information systems.
- Participating in ACCESS testing support through the WIDA-AMS student information system.
- Completing the annual EL (ML) Student Headcount for the Department of Public Instruction.
- Completing the annual Immigrant Headcount for the Department of Public Instruction.
- Fulfilling ML data requests from Director and other key personnel.
- Supporting, managing, and organizing office clerical duties, budget requests, and support for ML Director as assigned.
- Providing additional Spanish Language Support for ML Center phone calls and visits from families to Central Services whereby bilingual/biliterate support is needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support Director of MLs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees in this position are required to work mostly indoor and some outdoor environments, and come into direct contact with ABSS staff, students and the public.
