About the job:
Red Hat is in search of a Senior Data Privacy Specialist to help meet the demands of our fast-paced environment, the needs of our internal and external stakeholders, and evolving government regulations in the Data Privacy space. The successful candidate will work closely with Global Privacy Program partners in the Red Hat Legal Department and other Red Hat organizations to deliver Red Hat’s enterprise privacy framework. Reporting to the Director of Global Privacy, this position will require collaboration with every Red Hat business unit. The Senior Data Privacy Specialist will help execute and evolve our Data Privacy strategy, with responsibilities including but not limited to: documenting evaluating and recommending privacy compliance strategies and solutions, reviewing use cases to identify and mitigate privacy risk, consulting with business partners on new solutions to implement Privacy by Design, implementation and administration of Red Hat’s Cookie Consent Management technology platform, and other strategic and tactical activities necessary to implement and maintain Red Hat’s Data Privacy compliance framework.

What you will do:
  • Conduct, review, and document privacy impact assessments (PIAs) / data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) in accordance with privacy best practices
  • Implement, administer and evolve Red Hat’s Cookie Consent Management platform in partnership with vendors, internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, consultation, subject matter expertise and thought leadership in the Data Privacy space by sharing best practices throughout Red Hat
  • Assist with internal and external audits involving the Global Privacy Program and develop remediation and corrective action plans as driven by audit results
  • Work with multiple teams to mitigate privacy risks and vulnerabilities, and improve adherence to global privacy laws
  • Deliver Data Privacy awareness training, including preparation of educational materials and other assets
  • Partner with Global Privacy Program leaders to review privacy laws, regulations, and emerging risks and determine applicability to Red Hat
  • Support security and/or privacy incident management; including handling, processing, response, and reporting
  • Support other required Data Privacy filings and registrations in conjunction with Red Hat Legal
  • Monitor and prepare reports on global regulatory developments in conjunction with Red Hat Legal
  • Partner with privacy technology vendors (e.g., TrustArc, OneTrust, ServiceNow) to utilize and enhance the use of privacy technology offerings at Red Hat
  • Champion and advocate for following good privacy practices throughout the organization

What you will bring:
  • Strong communication skills and effective communication at all levels of the organization and customer base, including up to Senior Executive Level
  • Ability to construct well-founded, clear, and concise analyses and recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with privacy, risk or compliance in a global organization
  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues and solve problems while managing multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Exemplary relationship management skills and the ability to obtain buy-in from stakeholders as a compliance leader and champion
  • Strong reputation for integrity and ethics
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD,, etc.) and frameworks (GAPP, FIPS, NIST)
  • Ability to lead by influence

Strong preference for candidates with the following:
  • Professional privacy or security certifications: CIPP (A/C/E/US), CIPM, CIPT, CISA, CISM, etc.
  • Experience supporting privacy compliance in a highly technical environment
  • Experience working with Legal, Engineering and Information Security teams
  • Understanding of Red Hat’s business model
The salary range for this position is $116,640 - $192,390. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
