Form of workIf you are a self-motivated critical thinker with a passion for multifamily real estate, Freddie Mac is for you! We are looking for an Audit Professional for our Counterparty Risk & Compliance (CRC) group's Audit team. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are a must!
The team performs operational audits of our Multifamily Seller/Servicers annually to assess their compliance with contractual eligibility, loan origination, and loan servicing requirements and to assess operational risks posed to Freddie Mac by the Seller/Servicer network.
The Audit Professional's work primarily falls into two categories: Audits and Business Partnership.
Audits
You will analyze and test each Seller/Servicer's compliance with the Multifamily Seller/Servicer Guide and governing securitization documents in the following areas: Overall Control Environment, Underwriting, Loan Administration, Asset Management, Accounting, and AML, OFAC and Fraud. You will assist Audit Leads with various parts of the audit process, including holding open discussions with our partners and Business Units regarding specific customer attributes and potential shortfalls. To be successful, test work should be completed, and audit milestones achieved within predetermined timeframes.
Business Partnership
Be prepared to discuss all aspects of the process during regular meetings with the Seller/Servicer. You will have the opportunity to build and maintain strong working partnerships with other Freddie Mac Business Areas and with our Seller/Servicer network.
Our Impact:
Our team is responsible for the evaluation and management of Freddie Macs exposure to its approved counterparties operational risk. CRC achieves its mission through the various activities described as follows: approves new Seller/Servicers, and reviews annual Seller/Servicer certifications to ensure continued eligibility; performs multiple risk mitigation activities including portfolio seizures, transfers of servicing and approval of Seller/Servicer organizational changes; conducts annual audits to assess the operational and financial strength of the Multifamily Seller/Servicer network and compliance with Freddie Mac requirements; terminates Seller/Servicers for poor performance or low production. CRC is also responsible for maintaining the Multifamily Divisions ratings as both a Master Servicer and Special Servicer.
Your Impact:
You will identify areas where Seller/Servicers can strengthen their controls and improve their processes. Your contributions will support the team's ongoing monitoring of operational risks posed to Freddie Mac by our Seller/Servicer network.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a business-related field (Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, etc.) or a non-business-related field that requires fine critical thinking skills (Psychology, etc.)
- 2-4 years of professional experience in commercial real estate
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
- Consistent track record of working in an accurate and timely manner on projects with specific and measurable due dates and goals, while maintaining strong and positive relationships with internal and external partners.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $74,000 - $110,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
