Job Description:
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates risks. Determines appropriate terms and conditions for coverages and rates for program profitability. Contributes to the profitable growth of specific program(s) by maintaining pricing integrity, product excellence, and the development of meaningful performance metrics and controls.
Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly. May review books of business as well as profit/growth results and trends.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Manages an assigned portfolio of account relationships, generating growth in net interest income and loan-related fee revenue.
Achieves a high level of client satisfaction and customer service including periodic client meetings to respond to customer credit questions, and services and identify cross-sell opportunities and make appropriate referrals.
Delivers exceptional credit execution including prudent, sound and timely completion of all underwriting and portfolio management requirements within an assigned portfolio.
Produces quality documents.
Thoroughly identifies and analyzes all risks and mitigating factors, identifies variances to policy/procedures and assign accurate risk grade with appropriate justifications.
Ensures timely completion of renewals, annual reviews, and interim analyses.
Works collaboratively with Risk Management on underwriting and credit approval matters.
Supports a strong risk culture for Santander by conducting day-to-day business in compliance with laws and regulations, internal policies and guidelines and proactively identifying, communicating, and addressing issues warranting attention.
Meets Credit Risk Review, Audit and OCC requirements for acceptable reviews.
Ensures that the portfolio and all deal screen memos, term sheets and underwriting documents meet all existing Company and federal compliance requirements.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent field. (Req)
Work Experience:
Experience in CRE credit structuring, underwriting and/or portfolio management, 9-12 years (Req)
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statement modeling.
Strong credit skills with the capacity to evaluate strength and weakness of a wide variety of credits.
Formal credit training program preferred.
Ability to produce high quality underwriting documents with concise, well-reasoned analysis under tight time constraints.
Ability to work independently and proactively address the needs of assigned portfolio.
Excellent interpersonal, team building and communication skills.
Thorough understanding of regulations governing financial products and services.
Proficient with Microsoft office.

For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $119,000-$150,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
