Job Description
Technician shall perform a variety of functions relating to the processing of
information relating to our MRP system. These functions shall be primarily
related to auditing and coordinating communication between Engineering,
Manufacturing, and Order entry to ensure that all related issues are handled in a
timely manner. Job duties include:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Enter and manage data into the MRP system. This includes managing
part numbers and Bills of Material for new and existing products.
• Process projects, Sales Orders, and basic drawing revisions. Coordinate
processing with the responsible drafters and engineers.
• Coordinate with Customer Service regarding custom parts and special
requests, as directed.
• Make and transmit print requests for manufacturing and sales orders as
directed.
• Maintain part numbering systems and logs. Perform investigative and
reference work as directed.
• Assist Sales personnel in answering questions relating to basic unit
design, part numbers, special requests, etc
• Assist in planning and organizing Tech Services record keeping systems.
These include the Tech Services database, ECO and MRP system
procedures, and standards for parts numbers, descriptions etc.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Act as backup to other Technical Services functions as assigned.
• Assist in product design as directed.
• Assist in processing sales order print packages as directed.
• Recommend design changes to improve quality, performance and reduce
material or labor costs.
• Perform investigative and reference work as directed. Examples include
finding pertinent archive, documents for ECO’s, Sales order files, etc.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school or vocational school graduate (or equal). Minimum of one (1) year to
two (2) years of work experience related to data entry is required. Experience
maintaining data on a computer MRP system is desired. Experience in a variety
of engineering drafting disciplines, checking drawings and bills of material and
doing tolerance studies is desired. Must have working knowledge of current
Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software (2016 or newer).
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Good near vision, finger dexterity; ability to perform basic math calculations;
good numbers aptitude; ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer
station; ability to communicate extensively by telephone; ability to read, interpret
and work from technical drawings and other detailed written information; ability to
communicate using verbal and/or written instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Majority of work performed in a climate-controlled office setting at a computer
workstation. Work is conducted most often in close coordination with other
departments in a team effort with positive collaboration. May be limited times
when duties are required outside or in the warehouse, example: as built studies
