Job Description

The Fire Lead Technician is responsible for the onsite installation of fire life safety systems within commercial properties. You will assist in leading a crew in the overall installation of fire life safety projects as directed by leadership and management. The Fire Lead Technician is a vital component to the project performing the installation of devices, running wiring, and performing general construction needs to ensure the successful completion of client projects. Your goal is to display an understanding of electrical functions and operations and can enforce electrical regulations, construction requirements, as well as industry standards for the project. 
 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform wire pulling, project prep and clean up, troubleshooting, project documentation, customer communications, and training of technicians.
  • Achieve identified objectives; be diligent in meeting defined deadlines. 
  • Monitor and update tickets/tasks/activities assigned to them in company CRM.
  • Be the primary contact for the customer while on site; communicate daily with the Foreman and/or Project Manager regarding job status.
  • Responsible for all project documentation; enters a daily summary into company CRM regarding the status of the project installation. Will provide all final project documents timely for project close outs.
  • Lead the onsite crew to ensure the successful installation of project components.
  • Interpret drawings and identifies best methods for project installation.
  • Responsible for ensuring all project materials and equipment are prepped and ready to be used during the project installation.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety expectations, regulations, standards and practices.
  • Adhere to all TRL Fleet policies and procedures; maintains both the appearance of their assigned vehicle and its inventory. Follows all inventory management procedures.
  • Provide system troubleshooting and makes timely corrective actions to keep project moving forward. 
  • Punctuality and regular attendance

Position Requirements: 

  • 5+ years in Construction and/or low voltage installation
  • 3+ years installing low voltage in commercial environments
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License, and proof of auto insurance. 

We also conduct pre-employment drug screening in accordance with Federal Contractor regulations and background checks in accordance with State and local regulations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily.
  • Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
  • Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and multi-tenant properties.
  • Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
  • Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50+ pounds, daily
  • Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
  • Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally
