Duties:
The MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operating MRI Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency is essential. This includes the scanner, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment.

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient, consulting with the Radiologist for any discrepancies.
• Properly identifies and assists patients, offering explanations of procedures.
• Prepares patients for procedures, obtaining medical history and reviewing relevant EMR data.
• Administers IV contrast according to protocols.
• Evaluates image quality, consulting with Radiologists as needed.
• Performs basic patient care functions and assists during invasive procedures.
• Practices sterile technique and adheres to safety protocols.
• Maintains knowledge of MRI safety requirements for staff and patients.

Minimum Degree Required: Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
Certifications & Licenses:

• ARRT
• CPR certification
• Infection Control

Education: Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry eligible program required.
Schedule:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Hours Per Week: 40.00
• Hours Per Day: 8.00
• Schedule Notes: Direct Hire or Temp-to-Perm. Five positions available with different shifts:

1. 4x9s Mon-Thurs 1300-2230
2. 4x9s Tues-Fri 1500-0030
3. 4x9s Mon-Thurs 2130-0700
4. 3x12s Mon 10a-10:30p and Sat/Sun 0800-2030
5. 2x12s Sat-Sun 0730-2000
Salary Range: $28-38/hr (depends on experience)

Physical Requirements:
Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies. May involve standing, walking, sitting, stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling. Exposed to various physical conditions such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment. Must follow radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
