This position is Monday- Friday, no night, no weekends, and no call and a $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS!
Job Duties:
- Accountable for the positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of technical factors along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans of optimal quality.
- 1)Selects appropriate technical factors on an individual patient and procedural basis to provide optimal quality examinations
- 2)Performs post processing of computer data to enhance data and image information.
- 3)Operates support equipment for MRI, such as: independent workstation additional disc drives, pressure injector, patient monitoring system, PACS.
- 4)Transfers patients to and from MRI scanning table and prepares patient for examination by explaining procedure and answering any questions patient may have.
- 5)Initiates IVs for administration of contrast media for MRI enhancement in accordance with departmental policy and utilizing universal precautions in the process.
- Accountable for securing pertinent history from patient, patient’s chart or family member to provide the radiologist with adequate information for examination interpretation and to ensure procedural criteria is met
- 1)Assists in obtaining confidential history of patient which includes documentation of lab values, and allergy screening to ensure appropriateness of patient for examination as well as ensuring the administration of contrast agents during required procedures.
- Accountable for being compliant with established Accrediting Organization and department safety standards to ensure patients and staff wellbeing at all times
- 1)Maintains magnetic safety standards
- Accountable for obtaining documentation for department records related to patient statistics, supplies, patient billing information and preservation of patient records
- 1)Documents confidential patient’s history to ensure appropriateness of patient for examination.
- 2)Documents patient charge data, modifying and initiating charges as procedure modifications are made per the radiologist.
- 3)Documents any allergic reaction, incident report regarding staff or patient situations.
- 4)Provides timely information for inventory of supplies
- 5)Assists in scheduling of examinations.
Education/Experience Required:
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
- 3 years as an MRI Technologist or graduate of a certificate program in MRI Technology
- ARRT
- Experience in drafting imaging protocols
- Experience with the ACR accreditation process
