Job Summary:
Atlas is seeking a Field Inspector/CMT Materials Testing Technician to join our team in Savannah. This individual will primarily be conducting construction inspection and field testing/sampling of concrete, soils, aggregates, and asphalt. Come join us!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform field testing on asphalt, soils, aggregates, and concrete products in accordance with established standards.
- Assist with maintaining AASHTO and CCRL accreditation, including calibration and maintenance records.
- Input test results and run reports using laboratory management software.
- Communicate with others as applicable regarding laboratory results, project requirements, testing, observation, and report inspection requirements and results.
- Inspect work for conformance with contract, specifications and plans.
- Communicate with contractors, owners, architects and engineers effectively and professionally.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 0-3 years of experience in construction inspection and/or materials testing of soil, concrete, and/or asphalt materials.
- The ability to obtain and maintain certification for construction materials testing.
- Must be willing to transition between inspection and field testing tasks as needed.
- Ability to be outdoors and on your feet for an extended period.
- Current ACI Concrete Grade I or GDOT Field Concrete Testing Technician certification preferred but not required.
- Willing to obtain additional certifications as required.
- Shall possess a valid Georgia Driver's license.
Technical Requirements:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word and general computer skills including data entry.
- Capable of reading, understanding interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to obtain proper certification and proficiency with the use of nuclear gauge devices.
- Capable of lifting and carrying a maximum of 50 pounds.
- General knowledge of mathematical functions, including averages and percentages.
- Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work well with others as a team focused on providing accurate and timely technical services.
Other Miscellaneous Qualities:
- Abide by Atlas health and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time
- ACI Field Concrete Technician preferred
