Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Pipefitter/Welderlocated in Midland, MI.
About you and this role
As a Dow Jouneyman Pipefitter/Welder you will join more than 100 skilled tradespeople at Dow's Midland Operations. On a daily basis you will work with maintenance, operations, and other trades to support our facilities as a dedicated resource.
Responsibilities

• Provides maintenance in pipefitting trade to plant operations
• Plans the details and working procedures by determining replacement needs or new materials are required, and develops a logical approach to correct the problem.
• Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of working trade.
• Fabricates parts if not commercially available, using machines and hand tools common to the trade
• Advises and cautions operators, tradesmen and supervisors about potential problems, recurring failures, and inherent dangers involved
• Takes corrective action to eliminate or reduce safety impact of potential issues identified
• May oversee apprentices. Be able to give directions and assistance when needed
• Works with plant engineering and project engineers on evaluating, assisting, checking, and installation of various equipment

Required Qualifications

• Journeyman certification or 4 years equivalent experience or a minimum of 4 years of military service with applicable skilled trade job experience
• Must be 18 years old or older
• A minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required
• Must have a current, valid US driver's license to drive a company vehicle for parts and other activity on-site and off-site
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding (MIG, TIG, and/or STICK) experience in a manufacturing setting
• Experience welding hastelloy and other nickel based alloys, stainless steel and aluminum
• Experience with measuring field components, creating isometric drawings and interpreting isometric drawings
• Willing and able to work towards earning AWS Welding Certifications.
• Working knowledge of piping systems, pipe supports, pumps, vessels, and heat exchangers.
• Experience with pressure vessel and heat exchanger fabrication and repair
• Experience working in a chemical processing facility.
• Experience with Microsoft applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with SAP
• Good interpersonal skills are required
• Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
• A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks
