Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Mover / Store and Warehouse Specialist II (T0457) in Materiel Management. This successful candidate will provide overall administrative and digital printing assistance for the Lancer Print Shop; assist in the management of surplus inventory control, surplus warehouse, central receiving and surplus sales; assist in the performance of general mail processing duties to the university campus to include receiving and sorting mail, postage sales, weighing packages, assisting customers, and ensuring mail has the correct zip codes and addresses.
Warehouse Duties:
- Pick-up and deliver items throughout the university
- Assist in surplus sales, receiving materials, moving equipment, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
- Answer phones and greet students, faculty, and staff
- Operate cash register and Lancer Card Machine
- Reconcile funds and run end of day reports
- Track inventory and notify manager when supplies are needed
- Notify customers with information regarding their orders in timely manner
- Provide budget reports to each department with charges listed for the month
- Monitor online work order system
- Operate D95 Digital Press, 1000i Digital Press, V180P Digital Press, Cutter, Name Tag, and Engraver
- Assist with Wide Format production as needed
- Other general office duties as assigned
- Oversee and maintain accuracy of daily mail processing
- Opening/closing procedures for post office
- Stamp inventory aligns with daily sales
- Receive/deliver packages using SendSuite program
- Receive outgoing mail, input correct amount of postage using cash register and the batch meter for processing department mail using SendPro program
- Receive packages delivered via FedEx, USPS, and UPS
- Handle pickups/deliveries to Farmville Post Office twice daily
- Reconcile SendPro program
- Serve as backup for cashing out the register and reconciling the register drawer with daily sales
- Assure compliance with all USPS policies and procedures
- Load/unload mail van; maintain cleanliness of van
- Deliver mail as needed on campus
- Create bulk mailings
- Answer phones and assist customers
- Reconcile Atrium reports from LancerCard
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet Longwood University's criteria for driving institution owned vehicles
- General knowledge of handling cash and using a cash register
- Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures to include preparing reports and processing forms
- Working knowledge of warehouse and record keeping procedures
- Work experience in the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand truck/dollies
- Work experience in moving various items such as furniture, office supplies, computers, electronic equipment, and hazardous materials
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to complete mathematical calculations for inventory and other reports
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to react calmly under pressure or in high stress situations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge to include MS Office Suite
- Experience with large scale print production equipment preferred
This is a part-time, non-exempt, temporary wage position limited to an average of 29 hours per week and 1500 hours maximum per work year. Pay band 2. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful criminal background investigation is required.
