Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing high end customer service to borrowers and mortgage loan originators (MLO). Main focus is the processing of all types of residential mortgage applications with accuracy, completeness and speed. Duties will include direct contact with customers, ordering services (appraisals, flood certifications, etc.), maintaining tracking, communication with underwriters, MLOs and all outside vendors. Prioritize and complete loan files for a successful closing. Position will require the ability to multi-task to meet deadline and to work independently to identify, isolate and define problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review loan application package for completeness and accuracy; reconciles application against system input.
- Provide timely follow up to mortgage customers, MLOs and realtors with processing updates.
- Determines if loan conditions on approved loans are satisfied by reviewing income, asset and liability documentation; reviews and analyzes preliminary instructions.
- Thorough review & understanding of each file prior to sending to underwriting and communicate with underwriting regarding the loan details.
- Work with Mortgage Loan Originator, attorneys and customers in the coordination of mortgage loan closings, tracking deadlines such as purchase & sale dates &/or Rate lock expirations.
- Working independently to organize loan files, prepare and maintain needs list, and follow-up as required to ensure receipt of all necessary documents in both electronic and binders for easy, orderly accessibility throughout the loan process.
This position requires a candidate with the following knowledge, ability, and skills:
- Minimum of a high school degree or the equivalent
- One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with conventional, jumbo Maine housing, New Hampshire Housing, and government products (FHA, VA, USDA)
- Effectively interacts with internal and external customers in a wide variety of situations while upholding the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s brand and culture expectations.
