Job Summary
- The Central Monitoring Technician monitors non-invasive cardiac activity of patient populations by continuous electrocardiographic display.
- The Monitoring Technician communicates with the Registered Nurse any changes in the basic electrocardiographic pattern.
- Under the direction of the RN, the Monitoring Technician also assists in nursing cares.
- The Monitoring Technician is also responsible for ordering supplies and re-stocking supplies in the rooms and patient care carts.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Previous experience in medical field and/or telemetry monitoring preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Work Schedule
- Varied shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks.
- 7:00 am - 7:30 pm, 7:00 pm - 7:30 am
- Every 3rd weekend/holiday
- Occasional call time
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
