Molding Technician

General Summary

To assist in maintaining quality production and keep molding and auxiliary equipment running smoothly & efficiently.  Performs mold set-ups per the production schedule.

II.           Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs the job of cleaning molds to ensure production of quality parts.
• Performs routine maintenance on molding machines and auxiliary equipment as needed.  Trained to perform adjustments or repairs.  Notifies shift supervisor of situations to be adjusted or repaired.
• Assists in color changes to ensure a smooth transition between colors and cut down on downtime.
• To set up, or assist in mold set ups.
• To assist in maintaining productive usage of employees to maximize production and minimize downtime.
• Provide accurate documentation of molding process changes.
• Assist production team in the solution of efficiency and quality problems.
• Other miscellaneous duties as required.

IV.         Conditions and Equipment

Working Conditions

The Molding Technician work primarily in the production rooms.

 Physical conditions are as follows:

 Squatting to repair equipment; stretching to set molds; standing up to 8 hours or more; lifting up to 50 lb.; and wearing safety glasses and hearing protection.
