Summary

The Senior Mold Technician will provide technical skills required to meet departmental and company goals for safety, production, quality, and cost

1st Shift (6:55am - 3:10pm)

2nd Shift (2:55pm - 11:10pm)

3rd Shift (10:55pm - 7:10am)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Must have strong commitment to the management objectives
• Conduct team meetings and motivate others to accomplish the targets of the business
• Extremely knowledgeable of processes to support management initiatives
• Direct involvement in the development of assignments, internal audits, and Kaizen
• Identify tasks and prepare appropriate responses or actions for successful completion. Problem-solving and resolution to meet business needs
• Develop and support standardized work processes to ensure best practices in employee training, scheduling, and customer output requirements
• Participate in training course needed for better efficiency in production, timing and cost control
• Other duties as assigned in Management’s sole discretion
• Clean and repair hot runner systems as needed including wiring heaters and thermocouples, and plumbing air and water.
• Perform weekly and monthly Preventive Maintenance procedures to ensure that all molds are maintained to company standards and that all tooling is maintained in top operating condition.
• Repair injection molds to ensure that all molds operate at maximum potential, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, basic tool and die and repair / rebuild of hot runner systems.
• Use overhead cranes to dismantle, flip and transport molds
• Troubleshoot issues, both in and out of the press, and determine root cause. This may require collaboration with other departments if the issue is not clearly a mold issue.
• Perform work by following all safety and quality standards.
• Complete all documentation accurately and as required

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

• 5+ years of experience in injection mold maintenance and hot runner repair
• General knowledge of Injection Molding and manufacturing operations preferred. Basic mold tooling and assembly knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in repairs of hot runner systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to define problems and resolve quickly.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Overhead crane experience
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic functions
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Sound experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Knowledge of IQMS scheduling and planning
• Experience with quality control procedures to meet production characteristics
• Knowledge of Kanban systems and applications to support operations
• Ability to develop and report in detail, information and identifying of countermeasures
• Must have a good safety record and be able to promote an environmentally healthy and safe working environments

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work overtime when required by management
• Must have flexible working schedule to support molding operations
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds

Required Licensing/Certifications

• Forklift Certification
