About the Role:
As a Mold Technician you will support the manufacturing operations of the Diversified Products by safely setting up and processing injection molding machines. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. To perform the job, you must be to perform the essential functions and duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand the use and function of molding auxiliary equipment (grinder, dryer, blender, etc.)
- Read and understand part prints and drawings.
- Use of overhead cranes.
- Able to use measuring devices. (i.e., calipers, height gage, etc.)
- Hang, set and start up tooling in injection molding machines from beginning to end without assistance. This includes material handling, correct watering, correctly loading process and making adjustments as needed, hookup and setup of hot runner systems.
- Perform general maintenance on injection machines and tooling.
- Follow safety protocols regarding lockout-tagout, hazardous materials, and all other safety programs.
- Assist quality control with solving root cause analysis.
- Operate a sit-down forklift.
- Complete process changeover check-sheets.
- Other duties as needed.
Critical Competencies:
- Ability to read/write English and comprehend detailed instructions.
- Basic math plus ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to interpret charts and graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to problem solve with few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will be energetic, insightful, collaborative, self-motivated, and positive with interest in production/manufacturing environment. Must be a team player with good problem-solving skills.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three or more years of processing injection molding machines
Physical Requirements:
While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands, fingers, and arms to handle, feel, and reach. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
