Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.

 

About the Role

Setup and develop molding processes and establish operating procedures.

3rd Shift: 10pm-6am (overtime would be either before or after shift to help cover vacations, call ins)

Pay Range based on experience: $22.16-$24.43

Your Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates and improves molding processes to include automation where appropriate.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with management, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Establish proper documentation, write operation instructions and maintain process books.
  • Monitor scrap percentages and work on improving levels.
  • Interface with quality control and make sure products are being produced up to QC standards.
  • Troubleshoot molding machines and tools.
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Conduct and/or participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
  • Apply synchronous manufacturing concepts to enhance mold processes and generate appropriate data to support conclusions.
  • Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace. Cooperate with OSHA MIOSHA inspectors. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately. Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves.

Who we are looking for

  • 4-year degree in plastics engineering, preferred
  • 2 years related experience or 5 to 10 years plastics process engineering experience preferred.
