POSITION PURPOSE:
The primary responsibility of the Mold Maintenance Technician is to set and remove injection molds, and to perform minor cleaning and maintenance on the molds and to calibrate molds and its machinery.
PAY AND BENEFITS
- Mold Maintenance techs range from $24 - $32 DOE and tenure at the company

DUTIES:
- Coordinate with and lead the Tooling engineer to refurbish and rebuild molds.
- Clean and maintain molds with preventative maintenance, including disassembling and reassembly to clean components
- Must use tools and methods such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators to troubleshoot or measure a mold and its components
- troubleshooting molds, replacing components, and ensuring functionality
- Troubleshooting electrical issues in the mold, mold controllers, and hot runners (must do some wiring and hot runner tips)
- Set and remove injection molds from molding machines
- Maintain inventory by tracking molds, parts, and ordering supplies for the department
- Coordinate and documents repairs with colleagues and coordinate and document repairs with vendors and the subsequent transfer for off-site maintenance
- Update and maintain the EAM system
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working on high cavitation hot runner molds (wiring a hot runner system a plus)
- Able to set and start molds in presses (Van Dorn, Husky, and Cincinnatimachine experience a plus)
- Must have experience in trouble shooting electrical problems with hot runner molds
- Must be able to read mold design prints
- Must have good mathematical and analytical skills
- Able to use calipers, micrometers, indicators to measure mold components
- High school diploma preferred, additional post-secondary education a plus (trade school, college)
- Must possess strong mechanical and problem solving skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic tools for general maintenance functions
- Computer literacy a big plus
- Good communication (oral, written and listening) and English skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Repetitive bending from the upright position to approximately a 35 degree angle
- Ability to maneuver in various positions including, kneeling, sitting, laying down, as well as working at heights reaching 40 feet
- Must be able to stand for 12 hours
- Pulling or pushing a hand jack with product weighing up to 500 lbs
- Ability to transport heavy equipment and molds (2000 lb) and parts to various locations within the facility
- Ability to add and remove items and products on pallets
- Ability to manipulate heavy equipment when needed
Other:
- Must be open to coordinate schedule with a 7 day work week, as production demands
- 24 hour - on call availability for emergencies may be required
