PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic repair and preventive maintenance
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnosis, and repair all mechanical and electrical equipment and share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts/ principles to other maintenance personnel.
- Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Follows all established Food Safety guidelines and GMP’s, including maintaining an orderly and clean work environment.
- Assures preventative maintenance program is conducted on all plant equipment and report and qualify results.
- Perform welding, cutting, and soldering using electric and gas equipment.
- Reading equipment manuals, blueprints, and other sources of information to build knowledge, and assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment.
- Provides emergency/ unscheduled repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime
- Communicate effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufactures
- Inform the appropriate facility personnel/ supervisor of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would effect there area of operation.
- Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed
- Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by team leader
- Assists in orientation and/ or training of associates
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- High School Diploma or GED required. Technical School graduate preferred
- 3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
- Must be able to pay attention to detail and demonstrate independent reasoning and judgment
- Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement, and Temporary Teams as assigned
- Possess basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/ building maintenance welding, machining, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, drafting and blueprint reading knowledge
- General mechanical skills and knowledge relate to troubleshooting and service of various equipment.
- Knowledge of power and tools The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Will be exposed to plant production development, indoors and outdoors
- Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity
- Employee regularly required walking, twisting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility
- Must be able to list 50lbs
- May handle potentially hazardous equipment and materials
- Works in high noise area, hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements
- Occasional testing of energized electrical equipment
- Will be required to work around bakery ingredients
- Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
- Able to work multi shift environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work any day, any shift
