Job purpose

Provides unit and individual training for all levels of the MAGTF operations with a focus on MSC/MEF level Operations Center C2 Systems and processes. Training includes tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), roles and responsibilities with an emphasis on information exchange requirements, information management, authorities/titles and C2 Systems within the Joint Environment. The MAGTF Command Operations Center Specialist is the Subject Matter Expert for Command and Control and understands the integration of all seven warfighting functions. The MAGTF Command Operations Center Specialist  reports to and receives work direction the contract Program Manager and MOCTT Lead.

Duties and responsibilities

• Provides instruction, over the shoulder training, and mentorship on the operations and employment of digital and analog command and control on the watch floor to include people, processes and tools that support the integration of the seven warfighting functions.
• Provides instruction and training to Unit Staff members on the warfighting function of command and control to include Information Management, employment and integration of C2 Systems, and the roles and responsibilities of Watch Standers across the MAGTF with a focus at the Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) and Major Subordinate Element (MSE) level.
• Conduct organizational level assessments, providing feedback and recommendations for certification to MEF/MSC level staff.
• Coordinates with Command and Staff Sections to tailor and execute a C2 Training Continuum in support of MAGTF training and exercises.
• Works with other branches of the MAGTF Staff Training Program (MSTP) to include the Exercise Design branch and the MAGTF branch to coordinate and conduct MEF/JTF level training exercises.
• Maintains currency with the C2 Systems found at the MEF/ MSC levels.
• Incorporates new concepts and TTPs in accordance with available resources and doctrine.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described.
• Assist in the evolution and development of watch floor procedures and integration of emerging concepts.

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with force Design 2030 operating concepts
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in computer applications such as Windows & MS Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills in support of rapidly changing scheduling and staffing
• Ability to clearly articulate feedback and recommendations for improvement to an executive level staff both verbally and in writing

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree at a minimum or 10yrs relevant experience
• Maneuver Warfare Course
• Graduate of the Tactical MAGTF Integration Course or Advance Maneuver Warfare Course (AMWC)
• Graduate of the Formal School Instructor Course/Basic Instructor Course/FLEX course

Years of Relative Work Experience

• 3 years experience working with MEF/MSE staff
