Mobile Event Crew - Shift Manager

Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Mobile EventShift Manager. The Shift Manager will play a key role in the daily operations of our food truck, ensuring the smooth execution of events, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires flexibility, leadership skills, and a passion for the food industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and quality standards. Ensure that all food products are fresh, properly portioned, and prepared in a timely manner.
2. Truck Setup and Hauling: Oversee the setup and breakdown of the food truck at event locations. Safely drive and navigate the food trailer to and from event sites, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
3. Event Staffing: Coordinate and manage staffing for events, including scheduling, assigning duties, and providing training and guidance to team members. Ensure that all staff members adhere to company policies and procedures.
4. Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and courteously. Strive to create a positive and memorable experience for every customer.
5. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, ingredients, and equipment on the food truck. Place orders for replenishment as needed, ensuring that adequate stock is maintained at all times.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the food truck, including food preparation areas, equipment, and serving areas. Perform routine cleaning tasks and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as licensing and permitting requirements. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the food service industry, preferably in a fast-paced environment such as a food truck, restaurant, or catering.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Experience driving larger vehicles or food trucks is preferred.
  • Note: If you have a personal truck or hauling vehicle, we can run an estimate for reimbursements if you'd prefer to use your own vehicle (provided it fits with our non-owned vehicle insurance coverage). Reimbursement is likely between $0.70 to $0.90 per mile.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Safe Food Handler® California certification is required.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, lift, and carry heavy items, and work in a confined space for extended periods.

Compensation/Benefits:

• Base pay between $20-26/hour dependent on experience 
  • Shifts may range from 6 to 12-hour days dependent on the event and availability. Any hours worked beyond the first 8 hours are compensated at the standard overtime rate (1.5x). Please note your preference for shift duration in your phone screening.

• Paid sick days consistent with California labor laws

• For employees with special skills or backgrounds in food trucks, high-volume events, and catering, we will sponsor the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, which takes approximately 8 hours to complete.
