JOB SUMMARY
The mission and purpose of this position are to compassionately deliver high-quality service and basic patient care in a professional, caring, and cost-effective manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following list represents the primary responsibilities of a Mine Paramedic. The relative importance of these responsibilities may vary from region to region and should be discussed by each Paramedic with his/her supervisor.
Medical Duties:
- Evaluates, treats, and stabilizes routine and urgent patients within the scope of practice and standing orders established by the sponsoring physician (Paramedic), with expanded scope responsibilities
- Consult with Medical Director as needed
- Administer over the counter medications
- Ordering/restocking of medical supplies
- Medical health screenings
- Administering flu shots and maintain proper documentation
- Restocking of First Aid Bags
- Restock Stoke Baskets
- Restock First-Aid Kits
- Assess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate
- Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical
- Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during
- Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety
- Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum
- Act as team leader and take responsibility for scene management as
- Monitor and maintain the general condition of the work area, keep it clean and stocked to maintain the image of Guardian Flight and
- Must stay current with advanced training, instructor credentials, and continuing
- Must successfully complete and remain current with MSHA required courses, participate in mine rescue drills; and must maintain all mine safety policies and complete all safety training.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid Driver's License
- Current State of Nevada Paramedic Certification
- Driving record in compliance with GMR policy regarding insurability
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Paramedic, with the ability to function beyond the typical "street environment," where treatment may be the priority not transport
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently and as a team member, employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas, read, interpret, and follow instructions.
- Available to work extended shifts at remote mine sites
